I
am an instructional psychologist and have conducted controlled experimentation
with learning in altered states. Collecting information about the out-of-body
experience (OBE) has been my hobby.
My interest in OBE began in 1965 when I read a Tibetan monk's account of his OBE. I was fascinated and wanted to see if anything else had been written on the topic. Little did I know! My quest has resulted in the bibliography of over 2,000 titles that you see here on the web.
I actually had a spontaneous OBE once, which validated the phenomenon for me personally, though I have not been successful in repeating the experience so far. I have been a research member of the Monroe Institute and attended various workshops there. I have also been a long-standing member of the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) and the Institute of Noetic Studies (IONS), and have worked with the International Academy of Consciousness (IAC).
I am interested in the possibility of using the OBE state to supplement ordinary methods in various types of scientific research. If you can induce an OBE and would be interested in using that ability for paid scientific research, please contact me. Or if you know anyone who can go out of body deliberately, I’d like to get in touch with them. There are some fascinating explorations waiting for us.
